Hi Mats! What does your work at SLU Holding involve?

I’m an Innovation and business advisor in Skara. I also work outside Skara on projects in which marketing and branding are vital parts of business development.

Could you tell us a little about your background?

I’m basically a marketer and entrepreneur, and come from the region between Lakes Vänern and Vättern – Sweden's larder. I used to run an advertising agency, and have been responsible for marketing for several industrial companies in the Nordic countries and Scandinavia. I currently also run the company Wincent, where I help organisations both big and small with strategic marketing.

What’s it like supporting and working closely with researchers?

I feel hugely privileged getting to help researchers take their results out onto the market! You often get to learn about interesting new projects.

Where do you get the inspiration for your work?

I like helping others, and get inspiration from feeling the passion scientists feel for their research – it's then easy to see why Sweden comes second in the global innovation rankings!
